2017 Palmaris Outer Coastal Plain Cabernet Franc Reserve
2017 Palmaris Outer Coastal Plain Cabernet Franc Reserve Notes of sweet cherry, toasted crumpet, black tea, and dried figs and dates come through with each sip. A dry-ish and tingling medium-length finish with moderate oak makes this a versatile red that offers a little bit of everything.
The musts were fermented in contact with the skins for a period of 14 days and were vinified using a Saccharomyces cerevisiae originally isolated from a Languedoc terroir. They were made in separate lots between October 4 and October 14, 2017 and subsequently transferred to a combination of French Nevers and American Oak in early January , 2018. Malo-lactic fermentation was effectuated in oak where they remained for 36months until January , 2021. The wines were then assembled into one blend and bottled in early March , 2021.
